Fishery Resources of the Soviet Union

Scientists from the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography (VNIRO) and the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) have cooperated for decades in the exploration of the oceans and the study of both marine and freshwater ecosystems. Results of this cooperation have been presented in many joint publications that allow us to better understand the nature and variability of marine life. Many of these works are available in the NOAA Central Library. The following group of images is a gift from our colleagues at the (VNIRO) in honor of the 200th Anniversary of the United States Survey of the Coast, the oldest ancestor agency of NOAA. These beautiful prints were produced by various Russian environmental artists and were published in 1957 and can be found in: Fishery Resources of the USSR, N.N.Kondakov, Artist Editor, 1957. This work resides in the NOAA Central Library and has Call Number: SH91.R9 1957.
